Biography

Silvia Castellvi (female) is a Director Research & Standardization at International Data Spaces Association She has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Silvia is responsible for standardisation activities in close collaboration with CTO Sebastian Steinbuss. She participates in the Data Spaces Support Centre, OMEGA-X, ZERO-SWERM, OPEN DEI and TRUSTS research projects, most of them leading standardisation activities. Before joining IDSA, Silvia worked for i2CAT (2016 – 2020), where she was responsible for Industry4.0 business development. Previously she worked for 18 years at Atos, the last 10 years on European R&I projects. During this period, Silvia was the coordinator of C2NET and ASTUTE projects and participated in FITMAN, FISPACE, ROAD4FAME and KAP projects among others, mainly in the manufacturing and supply chain sectors.

Biography

Gianfranco Cecconi leads the global community of open data and data sharing practitioners for Capgemini Invent, the management consulting of the Capgemini group. In his role, he has been contributing to several initiatives implementing the European data strategy, from data.europa.eu – the EU’s programme for the promotion of open data – to the Support Centre for Data Sharing – the first EU programme for the promotion of data sharing in general, both of which he led in the past for DG CONNECT and the Publications Office of the European Union. Today, he volunteers as an expert contributor to the EU Data Spaces Support Centre.

Biography

Pieter is a professor at IDLab – Ghent University – imec, researching cost-efficient and maintainable Linked Data Web APIs. In 2012, he co-founded a not-for-profit organization to promote Open Knowledge in Belgium aptly called Open Knowledge Belgium. He got his PhD called “Publishing Transport Data for maximum reuse” in 2017 from Ghent University, in which he outlined how Web APIs can be designed to fully automate data integration, which he applied to public transit route planning. During a 3-year post-doc period he was the technology coordinator of the Smart Flanders program and applied Linked Data publishing on other themes, such as, smart cities, digital twins, administrative simplification, digital heritage, railway infrastructure, logistics, metadata, hypermedia, time series, and so forth. In 2021, Pieter was appointed professor at Ghent University in Knowledge on Web-Scale, teaching the course Knowledge Graphs.
