Edyta Posel-Czescik is Head of Data and Format Standardisation Services Unit in the Publications Office of the European Union, leading two forward-looking projects under the Digital Europe Programme: development of AKN4EU standard and reference data management platform VocBench. As her Unit coordinates, supports and promotes the standardisation of reference data, schemas, ontologies, document formats and linguistic resources, they are proud contributors to the interoperability between EU institutions and cooperate with third parties, including standardisation bodies the Member States. Formerly, she was deputy Head of the Content and Demand Management Unit at OP, dealing with innovative services for digital publishing. Interoperability has always been in Edyta`s spotlight due to her background in security studies and former professional experience. Prior to joining the EU institutions 17 years ago, she was part of the Research Office at the Polish Institute of International Affairs focusing on the interoperability in the field of security and defence.

The "EU wide registry of public sector semantic models" workshop aims to define actions to create a entry point for connecting national collections of semantic assets. It provides an ideal opportunity to receive presentations and influence discussions on the benefits of having insights into existing modeling work from Member Countries, the costs of not having the registry, the support it offers to a single market of cross-border public services. Additionally, the workshop will explore the value of the registry in preserving and transferring institutional know-how amid the constant reconfigurations of teams working in public bodies. Lastly, it will address the significance of the registry for AI-powered solutions in designing new semantic specifications while rationalizing existing models. We welcome contributions from all relevant disciplines and encourage participation from those in the public sector, open source, academic communities, and semantic technology practitioners.
